| It’s the first Friday of 2019!
Can you believe we’re ending the first few days of 2019? That means next year is 2020…Two Thousand and Twenty?! Doesn’t that seem so far in the future? Craziness!
Anyway, I want to get back into the tradition of Friday Favorites here on the blog. Every week, I will be rounding up different bits and bobs I find from around the internet and in everyday life that peaks my interest that I think you all would enjoy. The topics will be varied, from notable sales happening at the moment, to important articles on beauty, lifestyle and professional news. So without further adieu…let’s jump into the first Friday Favorites of 2019!
China landed on the far side of the moon! | For the very first time in the history of space exploration, a vehicle has landed on the far side of the moon! I’m curious to know if this will act as a catalyst for additional space exploration.
Activewear for the girl on a budget | If one of your goals for the new year is to get in better shape, get to the gym, or just to look cute doing it, new workout gear is one of the best motivations. But since I’m not living on the Lululemon, $98/pair of leggings kind of budget, I have been loving these leggings and you absolutely cannot beat the $15 sale price! Order online and pick up in store if you are not sure on sizing. I find that they run pretty TTS. I wear a medium in nearly everything.
A new Congressional Class is being sworn in…and two of them will be wearing Hijabs | There have been so many history making aspects of this new congressional class after this year’s midterm elections, but few are more significant than the first Muslim women in congress. Did you know there used to be a ban on hats on the House floor? Out of respect for the Muslim culture, this has been lifted to accommodate their traditional head wear. Monumental!
The shade range heard round the world | In the latest beauty news, Morphe announced they are rolling out their first foundation and concealer line…the former will launch initially with a whopping 60 foundation shades. 5 dozen! For 2017-2018, 40 was the golden number, whether brands were launching complexion products or expanding their existing lines. I am wondering, however, will 60 shades be the new standard, or is Morphe just doing the most?
Denver has a Zara! | I’m not sure how I missed the store opening, but after a long awaited release, Cherry Creek mall now has a Zara! I have lusted after their pieces online for so long, but the fits on the models always make me second guess myself. But now, I think it’s time for a try-on session!
